While we are still a few weeks away from when the Black Friday ads begin to leak, we have posted five holiday toy lists from a few major retailers — Walmart, Kohl’s, Target, Kmart, and Toys R Us.
As you may know, toy lists do not actually have any discounts in them. Instead, they allow stores to showcase a sample of the toys that they will be offering during Black Friday and the rest of the holiday season. While the toys are not on sale now, many of them will see discounts throughout the end of November into December.
Even better, some of the toys are exclusive to a particular retailer, so your holiday shopping planning is simplified.
In a few weeks, we will be posting complete toy books for numerous retailers. They are much-expanded versions of the toy lists, and some of them are as long as 96 pages. Like the toy lists, the toy books do not provide a ton of actual deals, but they do show what will be available throughout the holiday season.
Walmart Toy List
In order to come up with their 2016 holiday toy list, Walmart polled hundreds of different children between the ages of 18 months to 12 years. The results are now in, and Walmart has named the top 25 toys of the season. Out of the 25 toys, six of them can only be purchased at Walmart.
Outside of the 25-item toy list, Walmart will have an additional 400 exclusive toys this year. Here are a few notables.

As Walmart notes, the eventual sale prices on these toys will be available in-store and online. We posted their 2015 toy book on November 1. They usually hold off to release their toy book until November, so expect their 2016 version on November 1.

Kohl’s Toy List
While we do not have an actual ad scan for the 2016 Kohl’s toy list, we can tell you they will be offering numerous exclusives from trusted brands. Notably, they are highlighting their new partnership with American Girl, which is a highly sought after doll brand for young girls. The partnership includes 2016 Girl of the Year products that will be available in-store only from October 3 to the end of the year.
